The Oaks Legacy Fund Print E-mail

The Oaks Legacy Fund has been created in response to requests from potential donors that want to give a large donation of money, stock, or other valuable assets to the camp yet don't want to see them used up in the course of daily business here at camp.

The camp is excited about this fund because it gives us not only a perpetual fund that will slowly grow and repay the camp with interest on the funds placed there but it will also give you, the donor, a legacy and long-term involvement at camp knowing that your contribution will make a difference in many lives for years to come.  What a blessing to know that your investment in camp may make the difference in a child or adult coming to know the Lord while here at camp.

The idea behind a perpetual fund is that the initial money, stock, or assets donated will be kept intact and secure in a seperate account.  Interest earned from these combined initial amounts will then be transferred on a quarterly basis not to our operations accounts but to the other two special funds, the Acorn to Oaks Giving Fund and the Foundations Fund.

How are these donations handled? With a monetary donation it can by done by check or cash and then we deposit the amount in the special account.  Company stock certificates will need to transferred from your name to Huachuca Oaks as the owner of the stock, then the stock will be placed in a safe box at the bank where the special account is being held.  Assets being donated to camp will be looked at and a determination will be made as to how the donation will be handled.  Please recognize that some assets may be valuable in the form that they are donated and others may be more valuable to camp in the long-term by exchanging the asset for a cash value and then depositing that money into the special fund.  The leadership of the camp will do our best to discuss the matter with you and make sure it is understood what the best direction will be taken for each donation.

Each donation will be recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation and a wooden plaque that you can display at home or in your office.

Please contact your local camp board member or the camp director to make arrangements for your donation.  Board members are from Bisbee First Baptist Church, Douglas First Baptist Church, Safford First Baptist Church, Sierra Vista Baptist Church, and Benson First Baptist Church.

The Camp Director, Dan Syson, can be contacted by phone, email or mail at the camp's addresses listed below:
