1.  General Cleaning & Housekeeping Skills: The camp is operational year-round and we are always appreciative of anyone who is willing to help with cleaning after our weekend groups.  We do general cleaning and inspection of our three sleeping quarters on Mondays & Tuesdays, vacuum and clean the chapel, and mop the dining rooms in preparation for the next group.  We provide all the necessary items for cleaning except for the Elbow Grease...you bring that with you.  We are also in the process of moving away from harsh chemical cleaners and going with "green" cleaning products that have less effects on people who may have allergies to various chemicals.

2.   General Labor: Do you have maintenance type skills?  We are in the process of upgrading the quality of the interior of many of our buildings without detracting away from the "rustic" appearance on the outside.  "Rustic" on the outside no longer is synonomous with bare or minimum quality on the inside.  We need people with skills in ceramic tiling, drywall repair or installation, building with wood, and painting.  If you have other skills let us know.  Want to learn a new skill?  Give us a call and find out when others will be here you can learn from.

3.   Outside Labor: Like to ride a mower?  Want to build muscles cutting firewood?  We are constantly needing to keep our grounds mowed so that our property doesn't look "abandoned" at first glance.  First impressions are important to us in both our Christian witness to the public and in creating a desire to return by the campers who are attending.  We are also cutting wood on a regular basis both to help control dead growth and maintain the undergrowth that becomes a fire hazard if left unchecked.  We have 40 acres of property here and a lot of trees and manzanita that need to be maintained.  The cut wood is used for our campfires in the outside amphitheator or Indian Oaks teepee village.  We also donate a large portion of our cut wood to neighbors such as the Hospitality House that has a Christian ministry to the soldiers from Ft. Huachuca.  Several of our neighbors burn wood for heat in the winter months.

4.   Cooking & Kitchen Staffing: Like to cook, assist in food preparation and serving, or washing dishes?  With the size of our weekend groups and summer programs constantly getting larger...Praise God!...we are in need of people who enjoy interacting with people and know their way around a kitchen.  Our meals here at camp consist of 21 meal options that our groups can choose from and the preparation is pretty straight forward and easy to learn.  Like to bake?  We really appreciate a variety of deserts and enjoy serving them to our guests and  homemade bread or rolls really set our meals apart from the norm.  Please call or email us at the office and we'll work together to fit you into a schedule that will both work for you and the kitchen.  Our staffing needs vary on a weekly basis throughout the year and we're flexible on what your time allows.

5.   Specialized Skills: Do you have computer skills with website design or maintenance, bookkeeping or financial accounting skills?  How about arts & crafts abilities?   We can always use someone who can work from either home or here at camp to help keep our website updated and exciting to visit.  Many of our campers and groups travel to get here and the camp website is a great way to pre-register for events or gives new people a chance to "visit" camp without leaving home.   We can always use an extra set of experienced eyes and hands to assist in our office work even if it's just to double-check to make sure we're using our current programs as efficiently as possible.   Are you an "artsy" person?  We're always open to craft ideas for the summer camps based on age activities and the focus or theme of that particular week.  Like to design things?  We are in the process of creating several versions of our camp t-shirts for both youth and adults.  What better way to advertise a great camp like Huachuca Oaks then to have it on the front or back of a t-shirt or sweatshirt.
