Mountain Bike Adventures Print E-mail

This summer of 2012 we are excited to have our mountain bike day trips.  These trips will be offered during the Rucker Expeditions trip, and during the Ponderosa Jr. High camps and the Challenge High School camp and are available through the website and when you register at camp.

These trips will take place in the nearby hills of the Huachuca Mountains and will average 3 to 5 miles of easy to moderate trails, dirt and gravel roads, and will include a sack lunch.  These trips will be limited to 8 campers and will be accompanied by 2 staff members that are trained in mountain bike riding and basic first aid for any incidents along the way.  The purpose of limiting these trips to to enable each rider to have a safe and fun ride in a small group.

Our mountain bikes are well maintained and we include riding helmets that are required by all riders including staff members.  Many of our bikes are new and ready to go.  If you have a mountain bike that is in good shape and all the safety features are working along with a riding helmet, you may bring your own bike to ride.  Please be aware that if you choose to bring your own bike that it will be inspected and approved for riding by one of our staff members.  If the bike is not approved for one reason or another then we will give you the option to rent one of our bikes so that you can ride with us.

For the fee of $25, you will get a one-hour test ride with your group to make sure you understand how to ride with a group, trail rules, and getting used to using the features on the mountain bike you chose for your ride.  Then your day trip will be scheduled and you will go off with your group on a 4-6 hour ride which includes a lunch on the trail.

Don't worry....you'll be back in time for swimming and afternoon games!

Don't wait too long to make up your mind as these mountain bike day trips will fill up fast.
